![]() It’s all technically above average, all a little bland, but most of all, its body of work is so nondescript and inoffensive that it’s really hard to even talk about. Just last week I was telling Anthony Burch that reviewing Rune Factory: Frontier is like trying to review the TV show Friends one episode at a time. ![]() It’s probably been the toughest assignment I’ve done for Destructoid yet, both due to the game’s massive size, and also due to a certain indescribable quality the game possesses. I’ve been trying to get this review finished for weeks. Publisher: Marvelous Entertainment/XSeed Games Were these action elements enough to get a non- Harvest Moon fan to enjoy a farming sim? Hit the jump to find out. The series’ signature combination of passivity and constant responsibility just doesn’t jive with my inherent need to be completely lazy and violent at all times. I’ve always wanted to enjoy the Harvest Moon games, but I just couldn’t. Sure, the game is still about watering turnips and getting the local girls to marry you, but it’s also about cleaving goblin’s heads open with a broadsword. People like that might still get into Rune Factory: Frontier for its sizable amount of action/dungeon crawling. This review is for the people in between, those that sometimes like Harvest Moon, but other times hate it with a passion. If you hate Harvest Moon, well, it’s not likely that Rune Factory: Frontier will be for you. If you like the time/resource management, farming, and dating stuff that has made the Harvest Moon games so successful over the years, you’ll really like this game. Rune Factory: Frontier is almost that kind of game. I’m talking about games like Halo 3, Rock Band 2, Mega Man 9 games that fans of their genres will absolutely love, but non-fans just won’t. ![]() A simple “If you like this sort of thing, you’ll like this game” is all anyone really needs to know. Note: She likes you more when you are there when she picks up the items in the shipping box at 5 p.m.There are certain games that barely need to be reviewed.Milk・ Withered Grass・ Weeds・ Failed Dish・ Scrap Metal Strawberry・ Corn・ Cherry Grass・ Omelet・ French Fries・ Hot Chocolate・ Hot Milk・ Sweet Potato・ Corn on the Cob・ Fried Veggies After marriage, Rosetta will admit that she left Kardia chasing the player the same way you left chasing Mist, which may be another reason why she views Mist as a rival.īut how did you know what I liked? Don't tell me you like me.No way. ![]() In one of her random dialogues, she will accidentally confess to finding the player attractive. She is also the only bachelorette besides Mist to had feelings for Raguna prior to being courted, although the player still has to raise her affection all the way. Afterwards, Rosetta will return to running her store and only leave to visit her father on occasion. She'll give it to her father and he recovers. Upon raising her LP high enough, the player can talk to Lara, and she will give him the recipe for an XL Recovery Potion. Her father's condition will continue to get worse as the player increases her affection. She'll leave Danny in charge of her shop and shipping duties and only return on Holidays. Once the player has become close to Rosetta, she'll mention that her father has fallen ill, and she needs to go back to Trampoli to take care of him. This is bad news for Danny, but also good news for the player, since Rosetta offers a much wider variety. Before the first season has ended, she will have set up a store and started competing with Danny for business. In the meantime, Rosetta will be staying at Mist. She left him a note so he could "get his act together". Rosetta ran away from home because she felt her father wasn't doing a good job with his responsibilities in the general store. When Rosetta first appears, she will be picking up the player's shipments and staying with Mist. Rosetta still looks the same as she was in Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon. She will also offer Danny by working and patching his place up after having put him out of business. She does have a sweet side, though, and despite seeing Mist as a rival, the two are still friends. Rosetta is one of the more competitive bachelorettes, mentioning ways she and Mist would try to compete with each other as children and eventually running Danny to the ground.
